I recently came across not one but two UK razors that were in pieces. Well, the Aristocrat #66 was in pieces and the Rocket had a damaged end cap which needed replacing, so required a strip down.
I thought the information below may be of help to some of you guys.
These razors are assembled by fitting all of the pieces together, adjusting, then crimping the baseplate to the top of the handle tube from inside the open doors of the razor. The US Super Speeds and other UK Aristocrats etc. are assembled using a screw that is fitted inside the TTO Knob, so this is a very different method.
Hopefully the images below help as it's quite difficult to explain.
If your baseplate spins or is wobbly on this type of razor, the last two images may help you rectify
I replated each component of the Rocket before assembling as it was quite brassed.
Razors in pieces
Held in a vice with soft jaws after assembly and adjustment of the TTO
Crimped using a small punch at points marked
Back to working order
Best wishes
Dave
