Razor skip

So using a windbreak razor and a PAA soap I suffered a razor skip today. Going across grain on my cheek I received a cut when the razor stared the skip an when it landed. In addition to technique is razor skip aggravated by too much cushion and not enough slippery glide in the lather I made?

I've done this as well. Yes on the cushion vs. glide issue, at least for me. More water helps!

More water should do the trick

That happened to me on a front to back XTG just below the cheekbone. What I believed happened was that my skin started to fold (can also be caused by lack lubrication as noted above) in front of the razor and acted as a speed bump and the blade clipped it. So I stretch the skin in that area and eliminated the skip.

More water and skin stretching will help. Your lather is either too dry or it dried out while shaving.

It has happened to me, too. I think my lather was too dry.

You may want to slow down on the stroking too.
