I would step up to the Stanley Bostitch model. All metal with die cast base. 20 bucks at Staples.com

I found a pencil sharpener that works when I put four AA batteries iin it.

People discard the darndest things.

Instead of having two sharpeners in it, it has only one.

It was only a cheap sharpener.

To make it work the best I twist the pencil a little.

Now you about Billski's pencil sharpener.
I feel like I know you now.

I have found two old school pencil sharpeners. A dixon pointer, and another one i can't remember the name. They are sharp but i guess if i had to sharpen them at one time. I would use this:

That is a cool device. I wonder how big it is?

LOL, Tony. Very funny. What's next, artisinal breathing?

KeenDogg, I would think that your quest will be difficult, have you looked on eBay or Etsy for an old-school Boston sharpener?

There are several for sale right now and here is a set of replacement cutters for cheap: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Bos...636924?hash=item3ac7b5167c:g:FrcAAOSwGXtXhNue
Good catch! That maybe the answer! I wonder if pencils these days might be junk. That may be my problem.

Thanks,
Adam

it looks to me that the handle on the Bostitch is too low, and you'd smack your knuckles every time you passed the base.
