Opinion of Blue Beards Revenge soap

I did not know they made a soap too - I thought they only had creams.
Will have to check it out.

Plus reduced hair growth means less shaving. Who wants that?

I thought the soap was repackaged / rebranded MWF, and the cream was the only one that had the magic ingredient (decelerine I think).

I thought this was repackaged MWF, the same as Kent soap.

CRACK! Just kidding. Alcohol or sugars may reduce growth? Have you tested the claim by using different soaps over a period of time?
I'm assuming it is something that people aren't generally allergic to if they don't say what it is..

It sounds like hokum to me, but it's not something I'd want in a soap.

I'm looking for something that promotes beard growth not inhibits it.

You're right, it seems to be called decelerine. Hmmm.

Yeah, but "decelerine" is a just a name some guys sitting around a room came up with. Get it? It SLOWS growth. So we'll call it "decelerine." Sounds like a combination of decelerate and a chemical name.

In other words, "decelerine" has no meaning whatsoever.


What people want to know is what is decelerine? I mean from a chemical point-of-view. And how is it that it is purported to function?

Apparently, the main inhibitory ingredient in Decelerine is lauryl isoquinolinium bromide, which is classified, among other things, as a fungicide, bactericide, and wood preservative, and is supposed to inhibit hair growth.

That said, the MSDS for Decelerine makes it look pretty safe

Wow, I have some Kent soap but have never used it. For that matter I haven't cracked into my MWF either. You might say my SSAD got out of hand!
