JR Torrey

Found this at a local antiques shop. Looked pretty clean, so I brought it home. She's a 9/16 J.R. Torrey.

After about an hour with some Mother's, it looks like this:

Turned out pretty good, but there are a few small discolorations still on the blade. Think I'll start at 1000 grit and go through 1500 and 2000, and then re-polish. That should give me a very clean blade, I think.

Nice cleanup. I spotted a couple Torreys at a shop by my house yesterday. I may go back and pick them up as everything I've read about them seems to be very positive.

Thanks guys!
Econjoe, I've never owned a Torrey before, but it was made in Massachusetts, the good old U.S. of A., so it should be good steel.
The blade has a slight smile to it. Never honed a smile before. Hope I don't mess it up.

Hokahay, thanks for the link! Winchester38, here's hoping mine turns into a great shaver as well.
