Deodorant .which one and why

I'm thinking of changing my deodorant product. I use Mitchum for sensitive skin or Speed Stick. Not sure of the exact names, but this is as close as I can come.

I'm thinking of changing as they don't seem to be as effective as they once were...for me.

I'm concerned about some deodorants having a type of aluminum product...which I've heard maybe hazardous to one's health. Don't know the details and I wouldn't be surprised if products I've used for years have that element.

Any suggestions about what to use ?

I use a rock! Actually it is called Crystal Deodorant and it lasts forever. It is for both men and women and is scentless so it won't interfere with your chosen fragrance. Again though this is a deodorant and not an anti-perspirant.
Cheers

edited to add that this stick costs ~5-6 bucks at your local health food stores but will last most of a year so it is as inexpensive as anything other than baking soda (which truly is the cheapest and no nasty ingredients either) :>)

Are you looking for deodorant only, or a deodorant/antiperspirant? The antiperspirants are the ones with aluminum. I use Brut and Speed Stick because they are cheap and I like the way they smell. Honestly, shaving your armpits also helps reduce odor and wetness. I do it.

I've not noticed any difference performance-wise between any deodorants I've used for as far back as I can remember. I use the cheapest I can get. I can get Brut or Mennen from the Dollar Tree for $1. The only reason I'm using the Halston deodorant I'm using now is because it was free in a gift set I was given. When it runs out, I'll go down to the Dollar Tree and get a stick of Brut or Mennen.
As far as the ingredients go, there's been a huge explosion of people frantic over this or that thing that has been in products I've used forever with no problems. I try to ignore that kind of thing. YMMV.

Gillette Clinical, I have always had a problem with deodorants. They would either itch or I would develop a rash in the pits. It was the PITS! I would find deodorants that would work and I would use them for a few years until, for what ever reason they would change the formula or just plane go out of business. Right now Gillette Clinical has a good clean scent and no rash. I've been using it a while hopefully it doesn't go the way of the others I've used. I guess that's my 2 cents, Thanks!

Three years ago I switched to the Crystal rock deodorant and have loved it ever since. I also still have that same rock from three years ago and it looks like it will last another three years, so I can't see how anything could be more cost-effective than that. What it does is rather than adding a scent, it makes sure that the bacteria that cause BO don't form. You just need to make sure that you use it right out of the shower because it won't kill the bacteria that's already formed.

I can't abide anti-perspirants. The aluminum in them forms that semi-permeable barrier in your arm pits, causes shirts to turn yellow, and I just think its natural to sweat (if you need to!).

If you currently have an alum block, you can use that to test it out; its essentially the same product.

Tom's unscented - no aluminum works well. It's pricey though. I've also had good results with Mitchum unscented gel. For scented - OS Pure Sport deodorant isn't bad. I usually don't want to play dueling banjos with scents on my body and face. Don't need deodorant clashing with aftershave or cologne if I'm wearing it.

I had mentioned in my hall of fame post that I'm now being very conscious of what chemicals and toxins are in the products im using. One of the products that contains toxins are deodorant. Aluminum, Parabens, Propylene glycol, Phthalates, and Triclosan are some things that some studies have found to be harmful. I was curious as if there is anyone out there who has found a all natural non-toxic deodorant that not only works well but has a more "manly" sent to it.

Tom's of Maine has pretty decent scents. You just can't expect all day protection. I need to reapply it later in the day. I have bad reactions to some of grit products though. Can't use their toothpaste.

I hear Petal Pushers have what you are looking for . Mine came in the mail today and I can't wait to try it out .

Whatever Old Spice I grab when I'm in need is my usual.
Antiperspirants have always been a big no-no for me. The first time I tried one, my armpits burned like fire for several hours. Not going back there!
