Which method do you use?

Glob!
I use soap, but on the rare occasion when I use cream a snurdle is applied to the brush for lathering. Anything else would be uncivilized.

Pffft, I'll see your glob and raise you a snurdle.
personally I prefer to use a skosh, it's much more precise.
A squinch works best for me.
I voted for snurdle - a word too weird to die.
In real life, I use dollop. Or glob, for something less precise.
What I really aspire to is "5 mL" or similar. I still have no idea what a pinch or a dash actually is. Yes, I've seen the measuring spoons with "dash" and "pinch" estimated out.

Is that similar to a skosh?
IME a skosh is a smidge less than a squinch.
For us Canadians, could you convert that to metric?

Can't ascribe it to any one source/author.
I am known for a few "Mick-isms" such as "near or distant future" usage: I will get around to it sometime in the near or distant future so don't worry about it
