Aramis and Williams 'Lectric Shave.
My Dad did the same thing. He was driving in his 75 Ford LTD and had a terrible pain in his chest, and prayed "God, if you let me live I'll never smoke another cigarette". He wadded up the pack and kept his word. Come to find out that terrible pain was a heart attack. I remember Dad smelled like Speed Stick and the Johnson's baby oil he put in his hair. Funny thing, I recently bought a bottle of Jeris Hair Tonic and it smells just like Dad! I wore it today along with some Speed Stick and went to Sunday Mass with my son, just like Dad did with me, and at the same church, too!I also remember his willpower when, a 20+ per day smoker he was half way through a pack and decided to quit. He just threw the pack away and stopped.
I'm sorry to hear that. You have my condolences. I didn't have the chance to get to know my grandparents as adults. I wish I had because my memories of them are very strong and filled with love.
