What's new

alpa fougere

I just got a bottle of this today and wow! What an amazing scent. If you like clean scents that linger I cant recommend this enough . It is subtle and wears close but it just keeps going. 250 ml bottle for under $20 . Pomade shop is cheaper than shoebox shave , I don't knlw who else carries this but if you like fern scent fougere you should definitely give this a try. As an AS it doesnt have a lot. of burn but it stays with you for a while.. ymmv

So...not sure how to describe this. It's not a traditional Fougere to my nose, especially after the dry-down. There is nothing resembling, say, an English Fern in the scent. With that said, it's one of my new favorite splashes. I used it sparingly this morning after a shave, and find that it's very faint, close to the skin, and wonderful. Next time, I may even be a little more generous - the fact that it was a cologne worried me as to strength but it's definitely aftershave concentration.

As to the frag itself. It reminds me of all the good parts of English Leather, with none of the bad. None of the powderiness, and none of the synthetic musk that sticks with you after the drydown. It has, imo, a very old school barber type scent, very manly - nobody would ever call this feminine, but it's also not a punch in the face. All in all, I absolutely love this and will find it hard not to slap it on after every shave, especially at the price point. The scent itself is so well done that I will likely try some of Alpa's other offerings, if only because I'm so impressed with the quality of the juice.

This ranks in the top 5 "bang for the buck" splashes I've run across.

My wife got me a bottle of the 378 as mine was nearly out as a birhday gift, she suprised me with a bottle of the Alpa Violet and the Classique Colgne. The Classique is a mild citrus smell and leave the skins soft. The violet while sounds a bit soft is infact really very nice. Apply after shaving with a little 444 balm. As malocchio says the Windsor is great. My Dads smell.

looks like http://www.pomadeshop.eu has those prices beat...

To my sense of scent, it is overly powdery. Not bad, but has a notable (!) "baby powder" vibe to it which interrupts it while it's trying to be awesome.
