Don't really want to he bowl after reading about it limiting your brush selection. Thinking of grating ~1.5 sticks into a bowl and going with that. Any idea if these two soaps are the same formulation?
They are not the same. Manatialles uses the stick's old formula and the stick uses a new formula.Stick and Manatiales are the same, you can see:

I have use both of them and are the samem. I use La Toja since 1986 . In this link you can see the cheaps and most expensive for the same product.
From what I have heard, the Manantiales Shave Soap may have recently been discontinued.

the ingredients are slightly diffrent on my stick than listed in the wiki. i guess they must have tweeked the formula recently.
