What's your favorite Spy movie?

Any of the Sean Connery Bond films and one of the Daniel Craig Casino Royale, The Guns of Navarone (counting this as an espionage film). Watched the 007 and Navarone film with my dad growing up: it is a nice memory of Sunday nights with him.

The Avengers (Diana Rigg & Patrick Macnee: the series) and the movie with Uma Thurman & Ralph Fiennes). Others as well, though these strike the right chord most of the time.

Yeah, that's a memorable film. I haven't seen it in decades and am due for a rewatch.
The characters as portrayed in the film are sympathetic. I kind of like Timothy Hutton and I really don't care for Sean Penn, so I have mixed emotions when I watch it.
In the film, I felt sorry for Timothy Hutton, but want to see Sean Penn hanged! :lol1:
They both served time and were released, Boyce (played by Hutton) after having escaped, committing numerous bank robberies, and being recaptured.
After Lee (played by Penn) was released, he actually went to work for Sean Penn for a time as a personal assistant.

Yeah, he's an interesting guy and immensely talented, but I don't think I'd enjoy being around him. There are guys like Tom Hanks and Steve Martin that you're pretty sure are pleasant to be around. Penn, on the other hand... it's uncomfortable even to watch him get interviewed.
