Yep, metal. Just the 'top' part of the Handy Grip. It could be used with a different shave stick.

First time using Colgate Handy Grip despite wet shaving over five decades. During the century since Colgate made it, it dried a bit. I'm withholding judgement for the moment. A fresh Arko stick is clearly superior, but I still have time to dial in the Colgate.
