I recently recommended a friend the Merkur 34c and he loves it. I would also have recommended a Razorock GC or something similar but the 34c is a good choice (in my opinion) for people who aren’t really into this as a hobby. They see it on Amazon, use it, and have no problems shaving with that same razor till it breaks. I’m think a Razorock would be a “better” choice but it can be hard to get the average person to care that much. If they’re open to it though, Razorock seems to be making some really good razors for the money. I feel like they are the current king of nice budget friendly razors.
What is the Current Starter Razor and Blade Choice for Newbies?

I'm a couple of months in, and started with a Henson Medium. I didn't want to start with a Mild and then have to upgrade. I'm undecided on whether I should have started with a Mild or not. I certainly had my share of weepers, but I learned very quickly how to have an irritation-free shave.
