I know what BBS is, but can't think of what DFS means regarding the closeness of a shave.

It means they didn't try hard enough.
A DFS is for those who don't want to claim a BBS (with their SAS

+1, this my usual result after 2 passes, with either the Enigma or the open comb and a nice sharp blade.

+1. I can usually get this with 2 passes and some cleanup on the chin and sides of the neck.
For me it's a shave that ended with a smooth face when I touch WTG and XTG. BBS will go the extra mile and give me smoothness in any direction.
I thought DFS was a large discount furniture store in the UK!

I don't see how anyone can claim a good shave with either burn, irritation or blood.

Thanks for the explanations, LOL. I agree that a BBS shave with irritation is a horrible shave. Better to have a DFS with no irritation than a BBS with irritation.
