ASRazor shave, Micromatic Monday, May13th 2024.

Razor : Star bar #4 lather catcher, Mfg 1919-20, tame mid range. This little razor with a fresh blade can not be beaten in my collection of many razors most days when used. It just works well for my beard type and was designed by a Star brand who invented in mass the safety razor in the 1880's way ahead of any other brand in the world in new shaving technology that even existed.
For a razor that was stamped and shaped to my perfection it just works well. Had a comfortable close stellar close shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(1).Very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to use.
Soap : Razorock Irish Countryside, very nice unique scent(Creed Irish green) + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Lucky dice" 26mm brown whiskers synthetic knot. Excellent lather generator, luxury heavenly cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. One of my favorites in my brush collection (26mm synthetic brushes are excellent!).
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock Countryside splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Star bar #4 with a fresh coated Gem blade.

Comments	Three-days growth. The SCS razor was so smooth - no blade feel at all. I had to verify by touch to be sure it was removing whiskers. It sure was! SV soaps are so creamy and slick. Three passes and one clean up. Didn't try for BBS - didn't spend time removing stubble, but got a really close, comfortable shave. No nicks. No cuts. No irritation. DFS++ Have some great shaves!

I skipped Saturday (!) and fell off the wagon today.

7/10. On a two day beard, the old blade didn’t seem to be cutting. However, it did seem to smooth out on the second pass. Fortunately, it also did no damage, which is a good thing.

I haven't used the SLOC in awhile, but this turned out to be a very happy combination with the Med Prep. The SLOC is a comfortable, fairly mild open comb that can still give a close shave. The older Fine tallow soap is very close to Tabac in performance. I think I'll be using this soap a lot in the upcoming months. Shame it's out of production.

	DFS++ 3 pass (2 on neck) but not a comfortable shave. I skipped the Jermyn pre-shave as a test and only used the Razor Emporium pre-shave bar. The razor did not glide as usual and I have noticeable post-shave sting (everywhere) and redness (on my neck).

Beautiful start to the week, here. Following this week's SOTD theme, I debuted a soap that I bought last month, but only arrived today: MdC Agrumes. Wonderful, like all the other Martin de Candre I've tried. With it, came a complimentary blade that I also used for the first time: Gillette 7 o’clock SharpEdge (1). Despite being a Gillette from PPI, I didn't find it to be at the same level as GSB, Nacet or Perma-Sharp. Maybe I'll reconsider my opinion on a second try.

Greencult 2.0 for its exposure is the razor I always use to evaluate a new blade. And SOC Mistura, the brush with which I judge a new soap.

Pinaud Citrus Musk finished the shave.
