Today I used:

Proraso green preshave cream

Proraso green shave cream

Anbbas Synthetic Badger Brush

1956 Gillette Super Speed

Derby Extra (3rd use, probably should’ve used a new one)

Clubman Pinaud AS

Cremo Wild Mint Beard Oil

Rating: 7.

It would’ve been higher had I used a new blade. Also, I have two super speeds I rotate. The other has a BiC Chrome Platinum Blade. Im slowly switching over most my razors to the BIC. I started with Derby because of price and how forgiving it is to new shavers.

Switching razors from vintage to modern. This was my first shave with my Wolfman 2 in many months. First impression is it’s not as smooth as the Gillette razors from the early 50s. Some of those razors, IMHO, define smoothness in a TTO.

This soap has a nice lather and matches nicely with the splash. Enjoy a good leisurely shave with this excellent razor...

Great shave this morning. Tried a new tool for cutting just the right amount of shave soap out for a 2-3 pass shave. I don’t know why I’m so obsessed with using just the right amount of soap for each shave. The soap is a software that is supposed to be used and replaced. I just think I feel wasteful if I used more than I should. I know most just swirl the brush in the soap container for transfer and I have done that and it works fine. I am just always looking for new ways to do things. They may not be better but it’s always fun to try new things which I feel this community can relate to.

Slight irritation due to the closeness of the shave. Very much on the verge of being a BBS shave, but I found a couple of places where there was some short stubble left. Still a very easy and pleasant shave.

Today I decided to go with my Feather AS-D2 razor. Whenever I use this razor, I also use a Feather blade. This blade is perfect for this mild razor. I did my usual four-pass shave and the result was perfect. Today’s brush was a Shavemac 28 mm synthetic. The Haslinger soap I am using does not come in a container, so I put it in an empty container. Unfortunately, the container I used was small. It was a challenge to swirl the brush to load sufficient soap. The Haslinger was on its fifth use. Nevertheless, the lather was good, and I got a perfect shave. Have a wonderful day and weekend, folks.

Ever shave and you enjoy it so much, you actually start to smile before you're finished?
Today's shave went that way for me. Just so doggone good, I almost laughed out loud. So smooth and comfortable and simply delightful.
