Another good solid but not great shave with the Suneko blade.
I had 2 passes 1WTG 1XTG + touch ups and it gave a solid smooth shave but with some irritation - mostly on the neck + a slight nick as well.
I have used one time each :- Feather,Nacet,BIC,Astra (Green),Perma Sharp,Kia,Suneko with the Henson and the best has been the Astra so far.

BBS-. Felt great while shaving but result was several weepers and overall post-shave sting.

Can a soap be so slick and cushiony that I wind up shaving more closely than I should?

So I broke my scuttle Saturday, face lathered Sunday, was not happy with the outcome. Ordered a bowl and with matching brush from TheCaYuenWorkshop yesterday boy won’t see it till the middle of April. Driving home from work I resigned myself to the fact that I would be face lathering tonight and the next few weeks because I am not going to go and buy a bowl just to use for a couple of weeks. I came home to a package on my chair, my wife ordered me a Timeless grey bowl and a tub of Proraso Green. She knew I would not by another bowl and so she bought it for me!

Onto the shave
First ever shave with the Pearl, got a DFS and could not be happier

Good luck with your surgery tomorrow!

After a horrific shave 48 hours ago using a 39C slant, i went back to what works today.

Noxema as a pre-shave
Pre de Provence no 63 soap (can I just say how much I LOVE this soap)
SOC finest badger in the Cherry handle- a stiff bulb for a badger.
And my tried and true Parker variant set to 2.5.
Gentleman Jon alum - can I say I HATE this alum? It’s gritty, probably because it’s pressed.

Took a shower after the alum, then applied Loccitane Cade balm.

Maybe it’s the contrast with how bad the last shave was, but oh. My. God this felt good.

Pre: Hot shower
Razor: FrankenRock: Razorock GC .76p and UFO handle with a DSC S9 titanium scalloped top cap
Blade: Nacet (1)
Brush: Razorock Bruce Plissoft 24mm
Cream: Cella Bio Croap
Bowl: Razorock Plastic Lather Bowl
Aftershave: Nivea balm

Well ... the shave was interesting. 8/10 overall. I was thinking that since the S9 was a GC .84 clone, the top cap would work fine with an actual RR .76 plate. Didn't turn out that way. The combination definitely felt more aggressive and rough than the standard S9 setup. Maybe there is a slight disconnect in the geometry of the S9 cap and the GC .76 base plate, or maybe I didn't quite get the angle right at first. In any event, I managed to adjust and get a pretty good shave. But now, of course, I need to procure a legit RR GC top cap and conclude the experiment. More soon.
