I drank only Guinness through the winter but it was quite warm today and had a thirst for some ordinary American lager. While I was in the grocery today, I picked up a six pack of Yuenling pints and had a very thirst quenching afternoon.

I went for the Pot o’ gold this evening: Jameson, Green Chartreuse, sweet vermouth (unsure of brand, though this place uses Punt e Mes frequently), Angostura bitters, and, of course, gold flake. Great visually, with gold fleck constantly circulating in mesmerizing swirls around the clear cube, but meh going down. The only flavor was of the Chartreuse, and it was fairly subdued. I might try mixing one myself with Scotch (and without gold), to liven it up.
