Vintage Aftershave Reviews

I found this three-year-old thread while searching for a review of Oriental Jade aftershave, and I thought I would resurrect it since I ebayed a bottle this morning.

The vintage bug caught me. I've got some 50-year-old old spice, Zizanie, English leather, Roman Brio, this Oriental Jade.

It's a theme: mid-50s to mid-70s pop.

In any event the thread here seemed to me to have been very well done…

Here's an old timer, still being cranked out in Los Angeles. The master site ,http://www.elsha.com no longer displays the aftershave version, but that one is still available at http://www.sampters.com .It's a throw back for sure, suppsedly to the old Russian leather days, but very little "leather" in the mix today.Still,it's a good old fashioned a/s ,and if you want heavier scent go for the cologne version.Heavy glass bottle.

I know absolutely nothing about this site aside from the fact that it turned up in a Google search while I was looking for Aqua Velva Redwood.

They might be crooks. They might be awesome. I don't know. It isn't inexpensive. $59 for a 3.4 oz bottle of matched scent if it is one they already have.
