Tech Tuesday tomorrow and here is what I am using:

Looking forward to the Basilica. Ikon Bulldog handle on the Tech. IMO perfect balance. Ikon is going to reissue the long Tech handle later in the year and I am going to be inline for that. In the meantime it is the Bulldog.

My first Tech Tuesday!

My gold ball handle tech arrived last week so I started wednesday morning. Have not used anything else since.

Today's shave was:
Tabac stick
TOBS (Vulvix) Super Badger brush
warm (not hot) water
ball handle Tech
rapira stainless blade on third shave
Proraso splash (old formula)

2 pass DFS

Love this razor (and all of the products that made this shave possible)

I have been using the R41 and this was a three pass shave where i usually just do 2.. but the three pass took even less time than my usual 2 pass.
an amazing shave for me..and I love the look of the fat handled tech.
I got it just yesterday, next time will take pics..

Tech Tuesday Shave: 7/3/12

Pre: Hot Towel Prep
Lather: The Groom Room's 'Porthos' Shave Cream
Brush: My hand turned acrylic handle w/ TGN synthetic bristle 23mm
Razor: Bakelite Tech w/ Feather blade (of course)
Shave: 3 smooth passes
Post: Cold water rinses; Witch Hazel splash; Krampert's Finest Bay Rum
Result: Decided to go all Bay Rum with the shave today. Krampert's sure goes well with the strong and spicey 'Porthos'. Great shave today!

hmm I don't have a straight answer for that. I am still using it 3 days in a row..
what I like abt it
1) performs good enough for face lathering
2) dries in 15 mins and ready to go again.so if you want to go bare bones..just this one brush will be all you need

oh and i dont know if this is a pro or con..it uses only half the product


what I don't like abt it.
1) it performs good enough, and I'd like spectacular
I already have the muhle synthetic on order, they are supposed to be the next generation and much better than anything previously..
its abt twice the price of the frank synthetic but I would order that if I were you.

I only have the semogue 830 and a vdh boar brush to compare it with..and if time and space was not a constraint I would go with the boar .
I am hoping the muhle will be much better

1941 Ranger Tech/Gillette 7 O'Clock Black

Great 3 pass face,1 pass headshave,BBS all around.A very smooth shave indeed,I got this last week from ocrazorman on ebay,waited til Tech Tues to try it out.I'll post pic's later,my camera's battery is being recharged.
