Has anyone been able to identify the razor used to shave off Letterman's beard?

Why would you want to? To me, it looked like a DE blade attached to a straight shank. After the butcher job it did on DL, I sure don't want one!

Yeah, due to current health regulations it was almost certainly a Shavette or Feather type of razor.
What regs are those?
Is a straight razor shave not legal in some parts of the USA?
I've had a straight razor shave with a tradtionals straight, AFTER it had been properly sterilized.
Well, they're legal, but sterilization requirements are such that most shops find it much cheaper to use a disposable. I think.
