Stone ID Help

I took a chance on a stone in an auction for a relatively low buy it now price. It seems to have a nice tan/dark line which I thought might mean it's a coticule. It's in a nice wood box and it has the remains of a gold label on one side but I can't read anything on it.

It's super dirty and grimy though, so even up close I'm still not sure what I have here. Any thoughts appreciated and any advice on how to clean a stone this dirty? Can I just boil it or will it come unglued (if it's glued together).

I soak all mine in bike degreaser then scrub them. If the grime doesn't come off I acetic with swarfega.

Looks like an India or Crystolon Maybe a combo.

Thanks guys - yes, the coarser side is definitely more of a medium grit so this stone is probably better for knife sharpening duties. At least I got a nice box out of it!
