Hello B&Bers!

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer weather (and winter for those of you on the other side of the globe).

This SOTD Weekly Theme is all about Single Edged razors... Straight razors, GEMs, Razorock Hawks, Supply Co., Wolfman WR3s annd WR4s, Schick Injectors, Kamisori style, anything using Artist Club blades, etc.! Anything that only uses a single blade edge. Even a disposable BIC Metal qualifies.

We want to see you showcase your favourite SE razors - modern or vintage. Let’s see what you have!

Nothing SE themed? Please still post a pic of your usual shaving setups. Or post pics of your usual SOTD or just tell us all about it. Let’s see lots of SE images this week!

As always, the weekly themes are just a suggestion, but being creative and having fun IS mandatory. We encourage you to post or shoot photos of your Shave Gear of the Day regardless of the theme as sticking with the theme is NOT mandatory but encouraged.

Let’s see your Single Edged themed shaving setups!

(If this is too long for your reading you can skip of course or even if it was shorter you can always skip, this is just my thoughts after a shave :001_smile)

Today was just a simple shave. I have not used the Rex Konsul in a while and wanted to use it again. Thoroughly enjoyed it as usual. Really a terrific razor, smooth, efficient.

This was my first time using a Wizamat Super Iridium and it will be one of my favorites, much like the Polsilver Super Iridium already is. This is a sharp, smooth blade and paired with the Konsul it was terrific, I really enjoyed it.

Areffa Discoverer, used it times before, really enjoy it. Its a great soap, provides great slickness during shaving, I really enjoy the scent and post shave feel as well.

The Neutrogena Hydro Boost is pretty good, it works nicely.

Overall great shave. My first pass WTG at 6.5, second pass WTG with touchs at 5.5, 3rd pass ATG at 4 leaving me a nice DFS+/BBS with no cuts, nicks weepers or irritation or I should say very little to the point where I call it zero. Probably my shortest write up alot of the stuff I used today I already have but regardless a thoroughly enjoyable shave.

Brush BOTI 26mm Fan Silvertip
Razor Karve Brass SB-F
Blade Flying Eagle 1st Use
A nice lasting scent from this soap & matching splash. The lather whip-up by the excellent brush was good enough.
Today's top-quality razor paired with this unique blade provided a satisfyingly smooth, crisp, and comfortable 3-pass shave for a bbs finish. It seems like all the blades made in this Shangai factory are really good...

Starting the week off with a different razor and blade. Today I am going the slant route with the Above The Tie S-1. This is one nice razor. Today’s brush is the first Rudy Very brush I purchased: the B&B LE 2012. This brush makes great lather and feels great on my face. The MdC soap is on its 172nd shave. Have a great day and week.

Razor : Gem Push button theme, Mfg 1958-65, mild to tame mid range, interesting razor inspired by that time period when cars had push button transmissions instead of shifters and appliances had lots of push button speeds and start mechanisms. This is one of my favorite razors for appearance for the Gem line(gold & black) and a fine shaver also. Had a excellent shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(4) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Ogallala Bayrum & sandal wood, nice Bayrum scent with excellent lather qualities. I like the sandalwood soap the best.
Brush : Yaqi "Casino clubs" 26mm timber wolf synthetic knot, excellent lather generator, luxury cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Interesting handle with a excellent knot.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ogallala Bayrum & sandalwood + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : 1-10 dial - Copy (2)3 template 9.5.1.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=:a17: Excellent shave with my Gem Pushbutton with a coated Gem blade.

SOTD From India
I put the blade in an aggressive razor thinking I could get something out of it for 2nd use. The first pass was okay but blade struggled a bit on my chin region. That told me this blade was not designed for more than 2 passes. For 2nd pass, I got a fresh blade but by that time I realized it was too late, that the damage was done already. Whole face felt like "death by a thousand cuts". So, my recommendation is not to use it for more than 2 passes because it felt very good on my first shave. It's gone out of production. So, I wanted to know if this could be my favorite blade and if I needed to buy it in bulk. It's a no.

Brush is soft for sure. The grip and design are both better on the Rubab Men Hornet though. I would prefer Hornet over it any day. Then Urban Mooch Wooden handle hair shaving brush has better backbone than both. If you are okay with "wooden polish going off" on first use then skip the two and get it instead. Thanks to u/okiedokie_cool for recommending this.

The razor is a gone case. I have been using it for just a month and twisting mechanism has already gone bad. The twisting mechanism has lost its smoothness and gets stuck towards the end. Now I have to hold the head and use force to close it properly else the wings of the butterfly remain lose.
