The shampoo bar worked fine as a face scrub. I was in a hurry as we were running late to get my son to a B'ball game. My Cella only has 1 or 2 shaves and it will be 3017'd. It will be missed. That's some great soap.
SOTD and IOTW, oldest razors, Saturday, Jan 25th, 2014
Normally, I'd skip shaving today, but everyone is doing such nice shaves, I can't help but chime in.
This Rahal Boushahla 5/8 razor with the nudie scales is probably the oldest in the bin.
Doc226 had great fun honing it last summer, and it's held a nice edge with only stropping since then.
Doing a lookup on the Minneapolis census rolls for the late 1890's, Mr. Boushahla is listed with his family, with his birth date of 1860 in Syria.
So, my guess is that this razor is close to turn-of-the-century vintage.
Prepped this afternoon with just Musgo Glyce.
(The Musgo glycerine soap *almost* could serve as a shave soap; except only that it thins out a little too quickly when lathered.)
Of course, Cella and a restored EverReady 100.
Two smooth passes with the lady, then a cool washcloth rinse.
Another cool washcloth soaked with 1805 AS.
Life is good.
Thank you, Rahal (and Alfredo).
