Have a nice Saturday Gentlemen

SOTD: 10/8/16

SOAP - Tabac.
BRUSH - Fine Classic.
RAZOR - Gillette Fatboy (TSM colors inspired, Delta Echo Razors custom)
BLADE - Astra SP
POST - Thayers Unscented, PAA King R. Emporium (vintage Gillette scent).

@blzrfn - An eye-popping photo. Some really nice razors. Have you used them all? How was the Leresche?

I haven't gotten around to using every razor in my collection, but I'm doing my best! Thank you! The Leresche is an excellent razor and all of the open comb models deliver a nice efficient shave without feeling aggressive. Somewhere in between a Gillette New and Old Type I would say.

Prep - Noxzema / Hot towel
Pre shave - Proraso
Razor – ‘The Rock’ (Rockwell 6S – #3)
Blade – Gillette Silver Blue
Brush - 'The Duke' (Duke 3 Best)
Soap – Le Père Lucien Tallow
Post - Witch Hazel, Jojoba oil.

LPL Tallow is a lovely soap, so you'd think having it matched with 'The Rock/GSB combo it would be an outstanding shave... NOPE!! I cut my upper lip, and I have a rash around my 'trouble' spots...Yet again, LPL just doesn't agree with me, it simply lacks the protection that I require... But I can see it working for a lot of people, so if you get the chance, try and grab a sample...YOU may not be disappointed.

The GEM equipped Autostrop VC-1 handled the beard, the E3 the head shave. I just love the Autostrop but for being a bit tricky to handle under the nose. It's like my Shake Sharp except more better-er. The E3 shaves real close but not as smooth as the I2 and Injectomatic which two at this point stand at top of the heap as head shavers.

The Big Green Monster is a great spring / summer soap with peppermint, Basilkum & it gets a little lime a slightly cooling fresh effect without addition of menthol.
When opening the soap is a very wonderful fresh fragrance .I find the soap with respect to the slip / care properties on a level with the other Dr Jon's. Simply delicious!

Thanks.

Have a great evening, all. :001_smile

Normally I would say no, but I did catch whiffs of it throughout the day. The Hot Apple Cider smells amazing in the tin, though the scent profile does change a bit once it's lathered up.

Thanks, Josh. Sounds like one I should try. I see a Stirling sampler order looming in the future.

Ron, this is a very nice croap...not a soap really, it is quite soft in the jar. Scent is hard to describe...tobacco, eucalyptus. A warm scent...quite pleasant. Great lather. I go for long periods of time without using it and then I seem to use it for many days in a row like lately.
btw... You are doing a great job nurturing the SOTD thread! Thanks.

Thank you.
