Hi fellow B&Bers!

Theme Week time AGAIN!

It's time to show the B&B community your favourite Artisan soaps and creams. Let’s see some limited or small production soaps and creams And tell us why you like them.

Being creative and having fun IS mandatory as usual. Sticking with the theme is NOT mandatory. Feel free to post any SOTD photo or just tell us about your shave.

We are talking about posting pics of tubs/tubes of soaps and creams here, so it isn’t a tough one this week! So the more creative the pics are, the better. And yes, Arko is unfortunately allowed. 😱

Monday, January 22, 2024 - Mühle Monday

Razor: Mühle Rocca R95
Blade: Gillette Rubie
Brush: Mühle Purist Silvertip Badger Ebonite
Bowl: DSC Bowl
Soap: PAA - Coconut & Oud, CK-6 (Sample)
Alum: Osma
A/S: Murphy & McNeil - Magh Tured Aftershave Balm
EdP: Tom Ford - Oud Wood

BBS with the Rocca today. I'm still working on my Artisan samples before I commit to a full tub, but from all soaps I have tried, PAA's CK-6 soaps are the best performing. They produce lather very consistently, no matter whether I use the badger or the synthetic brush.

Murphy & McNeil's Magh Tured Aftershave Balm is an homage to Tom Ford's - Oud Wood and is a lovely post-shave product both in performance and scent. The Magh Tured soap is also lovely, but I had some skin reaction to it and unfortunately had to return the tub.

A great start to the week with today's shave.

This is the third shave with my RR Stealth Rasor loaded with a Personna Medical Prep. Blade. Like yesterday’s shave with this combination, today's shave was excellent: Smooth and close. I am using one of the brushes made by Rudy Vey. It has a Shavemac Knot. The Williams soap was used for the 47th time. Have a great day and week, folks.

Monday Morning Magnificence

Almost the perfect storm of ingredients. VC1 with a third use Gem that was soooo smooth and efficient.
Talbot Soap layed down a rich carpet of lather with the dense Silksmoke knot.
Just a magnificent shave.

Brush: Frank badger
Bowl: Captain’s Choice copper
Lather: Stirling Agar
Aftershave: Bootleggers Perfecto Maduro - Witch Hazel
Balm: Nivea

I’m not sure with its success that Stirling still qualifies as “artisan.” The razor is artisan though not a soap or cream. Bootleggers is definitely artisan

Razor: Fatip piccolo
Blade: BIC chrome platinum (7th use)
Brush: Omega 10098
Cream: Palmolive classic
A/S: Wavol bay rum
Cologne: 4711
The papier d'Armenie had just arrived in the mail so I burnt a strip while shaving.

Very smooth shave for the 7th use of the BIC blade. I don't know if the Fatip is letting the blades last longer than my Tech, but it's still going strong. I was getting about 4 in my Tech, but wasn't really pushing it.
I think I like 4711 with the bay rum better than the Monotheme lime EDT. Both very historic scents that I think pair well.
