I needed a pandemic project for these long days at home. I had a poplar board left over from my walnut music cabinet (shelves) and decided to make a shoeshine box. I did more of it with hand tools than I usually do, which was a good education as to how much easier some things are with power tools.
I didn't really need a box with through tenons and dovetailed drawers for the back of my closet, but it really helped to fill some hours.
Very nice! I like the wingtip shoe stand. I bet you could get a gig with Kirby Allison for high end bespoke shoe tackle boxes. The standard options are pretty limited. That’s better than the Gerstner of shoe boxes.
