Picked up this little beauty from the Bay for a good last minute steal, this is before any cleaning, and it looks like there may be something going on with the doors on the head, but haven't had time to really look at it. Gillette Slim H3 Date Code (1962 If I'm using the table right)

Yes. I figured I would pick it up. Did I get hurt? ;)
Not yet! That is a good pickup. The only way you will get hurt is if you continue to brag about getting a fat boy for $10.00! lol. congratulations. It is nice to see that deals are still to be had in the wild. 😆

My first DE just came in the mail. Drove home for lunch to pick it up! 1940s SS with no code date. Now to wait for my razor blades and new brush...

Found a vintage Edelweiss on line, he happen to live 10 mins away...... after a few day we traded 100$ and 13" X 15" green slate ( that i cut in 4" slabs for him). He will find out the grit and performance of the stone for horning.

What I got out of the deal was 1950-60 Gillette, 1920s square nose King Cutter, 1930s round nose King Cutter and a vintage no name no markings blade (that will be my practice horning blade).

Good deal or NO?

Got the slate for free and I can get my hands on a skid (20-30 piece, 30" X 13", 4-5 cm thick).
When I find out the performance of the slate I'll let you guys know.

I recently got a Superman adjustable razor, technically it's a single edge razor and they are not easy to find. It wasn't a cheap purchase but I got it partly just to add to my small collection of obscure razors. It can be adjusted to a very mild setting or a ridiculously aggressive setting (where it's basically just a blade on a stick).

Another razor I got is also a single edge and it's a bit obscure as well. The razor is a Shake Sharp which is a fantastic shaver.

I've been hunting flea markets and "second hand" websites in Belgium and I've been able to buy some "ok" razors and a couple of - in my opinion - very nice ones. Given the 5 image limitation, I'll have to spread the pictures of the 5 razors over 5 posts, sorry for that.

Also apologies for the - compared to alot of others on this forum - crappy image scenery. Just an iPad and outside lighting I have.

I've been looking around on the forums and on Mr Razors website and I think I've identified most of them. Any confirmation, corrections, remarks are always welcome. In case you need more information or other pictures, let me know. :)

Anyway, first up we have what I think to be a Gillette Old Type from 1917-1918 I think:

Second we have a Frankenrazor as I think the ball end tech handle does not belong to this Old Type head. What's interesting is that the Made in USA is not all in capitals, it's a different font from what I've seen on most pictures about this head.

Any correction, more details welcome. :001_smile

It's from the 20s that Old Type. If it doesn't have a serial # there's no way to date it accurately. Made between '21 and '29.

Both of them. The last handle might be from a Tech.

Third razor is a #53 Aristocrat Junior that may be suffering quite heavily from plate loss. Otherwise it's in very nice condition with all original packaging included, appears to have been a Christmas gift seen the packaging. :)

My apologies for those that feel that they need to twist their neck. I made the pictures not realizing portrait ones would automatically be rotated by the upload system. So I simply rotated them myself. Will be more careful in the future.

Cream of the crop is an Eclipse Red Ring with leather pouch. I think I need to clean the handle and the head after which it will be potentially in very good condition.

Don't have any of the products yet like Maas and other polish products but will read up a bit on the Wiki about this. I will also give the extremely fragile and dry leather pouch potentially a treatment with Saphir Renovateur, one of the best leather cleaning/treatment products I use for my leather shoes. Convinced the pouch will come back to life!

Anyhow, without further ado:
