Razors that begin with B

It can always be added to at any time but it seems we got our fill

of “A” razors.
Here’s a start for tonight’s shave. US made as well.
A.Bannister , Newark NJ. 1884-1915. All I’ve done is hone it.

Girls call me Makaluod
B is for "Bengall" - T.R. Cadman of course.

Over the years I have collected a few, mainly so that others don't have to put up with SRs not taking or holding an edge. I would definitely not recommend any Bengalls, particularly pre-1924, to any SR shaver.

Most of the following are pre-1924. I'm trying my best to save other SR shavers.

A matching twin set of 6/8 Dutch points

A set of restored 6/8 with different point styles.
From top to bottom; French, Spanish, American (square) and spike.

B is for Böker

This is my second ever straight razor and the one I learned to hone with. It was my favourite razor for the better part of a year but has recently been overtaken by a couple other blades. It’s still a great shaver and I always enjoy using it.

I am not going to spam with my Boker "collection", so I am mentioning another name instead.

Bohler, which takes an edge really easily and was the only razor to cut though my finger all the way to the bone when I looked out the window for a fraction of second . I know, it was a very stupid mistake, but in my defence, I was distracted. The wound never fully healed, I have a bump in my finger and it still hurts when I am pressing over that spot.

I believe the company still exists today, although they are no longer manufacturing razors. It was founded in 1870.

Why not spam them? I’d like to see them. You bought them, you like them, show em’.
Some sites I go to guys are displaying collections that cover 4x8 panels. It’s just razor porn!
Just my take on it.

Okay, so let's try again then. "B" stands for "Böker" as well. I love their razors as the softer steel feels really comfortable on my face. And for this reason, they have a warm spot in my heart. Will probably get more in the future, if they keep manufacturing razors. Unfortunately, in the last 3-4 years, their production lowered and this trend still continues even today.

1. Not the original, but it's a re-issue. The original ones are super hard to find in good condition and also very expensive. I will not pay those prices. The original one was 6/8, but Böker decided to make the re-issue in 5/8 for some reason. I never found out why. This piece you see here is the last one to be made out of 300. It never sold well for Böker, so I doubt they will make too many razors inspired from their history.

Still has the factory edge, I never honed or used this razor. Will come into my rotation probably next year.

2. My first straight razor. Used this one for a few years on a daily basis or every two days.

3. My second razor. Been used daily or every two days for a couple of years.

4. Same as 1., this is not the original one but another re-issue. Never used, never honed. It will come into rotation somewhere next year.

5. I love this one. 7/8, it's perfect for me. Need to tap the pin again as it's getting looser.

6. And last one, a meat chopper. It can cut hair as well.

Oh man! They’re just awesome! Thank you for posting! What a stunning collection . I’m sure many have seen these on SOTD over time but not me while on hiatus for a while.
The bike! I love cycling and never saw this etch.
Side note I just did a frame up restore on an 85’ Univega Nuovo sport . Down to polished lugs and reproduction decals.
Thank you! What a treat.
