Hello, I have a random question but is anyone here familiar with the Rapira 3-piece razor? I’m curious if anyone knows what they’re made of.

I’d assume the handle is brass and the baseplate looks like a stamped piece and the top cap is probably a die cast. But is cast Zamak, brass, or aluminum? Thanks

Don't have the Swedish Supersteel razor. Only the Platinum Lux. It has a ZAMAK cap. Be warned. These are very aggressive razors. And I mean it.

Okay, thanks guys. Interesting, since they look like a tech look a like I figured it would be more medium.

Then is the baseplate stamped aluminum?

There used to be, maybe still around a Lord razor identical to this. Aluminum handle. I didn't care for it.

The Lord is super mild but they do have an interesting and efficient OC version as well (L122C).

I have the other Rapira (Lux) razor, and it is a biter. If you want an inexpensive Tech-like razor look for the Gillette Sterling.

They outsourced the Indian Sterling to a subcontractor, afaik the Chinese Super Blue is the only remaining in-house product.
