Question about hair growth patterns

Hey all, patiently awaiting the arrival of my first shave-ready straights and a strop kit from whippeddog and trying to arm myself with as much info as I can before taking the plunge.

Been watching quite a few videos and I have a question. Almost every multi-pass video starts wtg (mainly n-s with a bit of a slant) , xtg (ear to nose for the most part), etc. I do not see anyone changing the direction of their passes because of the direction of the hair growth. With my DE for example, my wtg pass along my jawline is a full 90 degrees different from the rest of my wtg. Is this not such a big deal when using a straight?

Any info would be welcome....and I apologize for the first of many stupid questions.

I change direction to meet the grain, unless I can't manage it with the blade.
E-W under my neck is a bear, usually handled with a compromise that incorporates a scything motion.
Cant speak for the vids, not everyone has the same challenges though.
