The only Lustray splash that I don't really care for anymore is the Lustray Dragoon Noir. I can't make out what the scent is but it kind of reminds me of some of artificial air freshener product.
Probably one that you can hang from your car's rearview mirror. The only Lustray splash that I don't really care for anymore is the Lustray Dragoon Noir. I can't make out what the scent is but it kind of reminds me of some of artificial air freshener product.
Just goes to show that this may not be the "High-End" of splashes...just saying.
Since I am not a "High-End" person it fits right up my alley.Just goes to show that this may not be the "High-End" of splashes...just saying.
Splash a little...Splash a lot...hell, bathe in it.
You could be a character in Spamalot...Sir Splashalot...BADABOOM! Just a trim today, thanks.
Yep that is the one to get. A dab on your face and a swig. It is truly dual purpose.
Now I'm wondering if the blue windshield washer fluid would serve as a good aftershave.
What is a little IPA (Not the Indian Pale Ale kind here. That is just fine between friends) between friends?Perfect for anyone collecting autographs from EMTs and funeral directors.
The Ladas isn't considered to be among the sharpest blades out there, so maybe that's why ATG caused some issues.Evening shave - 5/13/24
Razor: KCG
Blade: Ladas Stainless Steel (1/5) (2)
Soap: BSS #1
Brush: Omega 81052 Banded Boar
Aftershave: Stetson Cooling Moisture
Rating: 8.5/10, DFS+
Last night's shave was one with a bit of irritation. I decided to bowl lather for some reason and I thought it looked like good lather. Maybe I am just trying to blame something else than myself, but the first two passes WTG, XTG was just like normal, but for some reason the ATG was a bit rough. I ended up with neck tenderness and a weeper and still this morning I can feel the tenderness. Still a very close and presentable shave.
Hmm this shave reminded me of my shaves that I had with the Rapira Platinum Lux blades a while back. The Rapira was not one of my top blades and caused me some irritation and trouble. I hope that I have improved my technique by now and it is not due to the blade since the Ladas and the Rapira is most likely very similar blades. I am debating with myself if I should continue to use the KCG tonight or if I need a more blade forward razor. I might do another shave and take it from there. It could have been me having a bit of an off night as well.
I am thinking about maybe 3017 the Stetson After shave I have. It is my least favorite of them all and I am getting tired of it. I cannot make myself just throw it out. It is not like it is offensive or anything, but it leaves my skin a bit tacky afterwards. I probably will buckle down and just use it up. I have maybe about 1/3 left in the bottle. It is a pity that it is not better since it is the only after shave I have (yes I am cheap when it comes to after shaves) that came in a glass bottle. I might save the bottle incase I want to decant or make my own concoction.
Happy shaves everyone!
I am not sure. It does however feel sharper than the Derby Premium and I had no issue at all with the KCG with those. I am going to give it another shot tonight and after that it will be a bit more efficient razor. Who knows. Seems like you had a bit of a mystery shave yourself. The Ladas isn't considered to be among the sharpest blades out there, so maybe that's why ATG caused some issues.
I might try that. To see if it helps. With aftershaves that dry tacky, I usually find that splashing on some water on top seems to help.
There’s actually two versions of Stetson. There’s the $5 Walmart one and the $25 “real” one. Which one did you try @blethenstrom ? I’ve read the Walmart one is tacky, so I’m assuming that’s the one.Wow! Stetson after shave. That stuffs been around for over 35 years. I bought some...once. It just didn't seem to fit me at all...maybe if I'd gone up a size...BADABOOM! The hits keep coming...

Boris: Of course @Jay21 it is the Walmart one I'm cheap skate! What do you take me for? Some fancy dude strutting his stuff? I cannot spend that kind of money on frivolous things. There’s actually two versions of Stetson. There’s the $5 Walmart one and the $25 “real” one. Which one did you try @blethenstrom ? Sirob: Boris your cannot be mean like that. @Jay21 is a nice friend of ours. Boris you say that $25 for an after shave is a lot of money, but you bought a Lamy 2000 for $$$. What do you have to say for yourself?
Boris: That is way different Sirob. That does not count! Now Go back to your little hole where your came from and do not come out until I tell you to....
Yes it is the cheap stuff from Walmart Jay and yes it is tacky......
