FYI: the Platinum Preppy EF works pretty darn well on the newspaper puzzles - and I'm just using the ink that came with the pen.
It is, for sure, a cheap ($4 and change), ugly pen. But I am well pleased with the performance on the newsprint (which is the only reason I purchased it).
