Straights scare the hell out of me, but have never actually tried one.

I find DE blades like Feather, for example, to be less forgiving than straight razors. Maybe it is because a DE blade is shorter? I am not entirely sure.

In my opinion, straight razors can lead to blood if too much pressure is applied or the wrong blade angle is being used. But in that case, a DE blade will be no different.
