What's new

My Guess... 3017

I think there may a few who would join you in this.

My goal by the end of the year, is to have tried (and hopefully used) all experimental soaps...then it's on to Haslinger day in and day out. Things may change and am sure I'll be tempted by other soaps, but I could see a year of Haslinger in my future.

Do I smell a new club starting? Similar to The Order of The Fat only dedicated to the use and enjoyment of Haslinger? Possibly called H.L.S. Haslinger Lather Slingers. :wink2:

Soak my brush, 3 shakes, 25 back and forth swipes (not swirls) of the brush tips lightly over the surface of the broken in puck, face lather. I have this Czech & Speake dialed in the zone. I keep knocking out a perfect shave every morning. 17 lathers (includes a couple test lathers) in and the puck is dished a bit, but appears to have a lot of life left. This is a wonderful scent and I believe the best soap I have experienced yet.

I have also been using a very wet brush (boar) and getting great lather/shaves from this soap. Starting tomorrow I will try using a badger to see what it can do.

After my first try failed with the Col Conk Almond, now I start my 2nd run with MWF sample that a friend gave me. Wish me luck!

Just finished off the Barrister and Mann Cheshire sample I had. From all the soaps I have been using so far none of them seemed to stand out as a must buy. They all gave good, consistent shaves. Some I like more than others but nothing extraordinary. I guess that's a good thing but I am looking for some amazing soaps.

Next up. RazoRock RazoRocktober.

5 weeks in on the PannaCrema Lavandotto. Not sure I've made much progress since last week. I don't weigh anything so I have no idea what g/shave I'm using but it's not a lot.

The lather and shaves leave nothing to be desired.

Well, it's official. I was being a bit optimistic on the last of the Strop Shoppe Barbershop, I was hoping for one more shave. Nope, a thin foaming was the best I could get. 54 shaves from 6 ounces. Strop Shoppe is certainly a soap I would buy again. Top tier soap for me. But, I still need something to shave with, so out comes my next victim, Barrister and Mann Leviathan (4 ounces). It has a great chocolate like smell, with some other tones, leather maybe? I don't think I have the soap dialed in after one shave, the lather seemed a bit thinner than I would like, but I got a great shave nonetheless. The scent seems to last a bit after the shave, too. Most other soaps and creams seemed to fade as soon as you wash your face, with the only other notable exception that I can remember is Tabac (yuck).

Bowl lathered after many months for a luxurious Sunday morning shave.

For a while I felt like I was dealing with the Padmavyuha! But the PdP has finally been breached and I can see the bottom of the tin now.

I got moves like Jagger
My Mama Bear's Lime Ice is all done. Just Arko visible on the end of the stick now. The fast few weeks using up the partial puck brought back to me why I love Sue's stuff so much. :tongue_sm

Up next is 1/2 of a container of Captain's Choice Bay Rum. I won this via a random draw on Scott's FB page and thought it best to spread the wealth. So I gave my brother 1/2 of the soap in an Old Spice mug whose production range includes his birth year. Also threw in a Betty Crocker icing lid as a cover. :tongue_sm

I'm looking forward to ~2 months of fun with the good Capn. :thumbup1:
