+1. I love mine. It comes comes down to technique and a blade choice that works for you. As for Merkur blades, I don't understand why so many feel it is a terrible blade. I have used them in many different razors without issue unless my technique is off, but that is true of any blade.

I'm not sure, all I can say is every time I use a Merkur blade I have a bad irritating shave. I normally use Feathers and Astra.
