Let's Celebrate Spring by 3017ing Some RazoRock! Whichever Makes You Think of Spring

Just checking in. Been busy with out processing for my deployment. Been going strong with the KotC Lime.

Today's shave was

KoTC lime
Simpsons CH2 Synthetic
RR Alum
Simpsons Aftershave Balm

The KotC looks like I've barely put a dent in it!

Well, unfortunately, there is something in the Boston Tea Party that does not agree with my skin. It's a shame because it seemed like a really good soap.

Busted through in 9 shaves?! Wow!

Shaves 7, 8, & 9 are in the books for me.
Tonight's shave with a Thäter 4125/2 was simply superb.
I've got a hole the size of a US quarter formed near the center of my Napoleon's Violet where I've broken through to the bottom.

I've started posting in the thread much later than the rest of you, so I guess I better catch up.

2 weeks in and nothing but good things to say about the RR/TFS soap.

Well something seems wrong. I'm killing 6grams a shave. I am purposely giving it to the soap like I always do, but that is still 2-3x what I expected.

Oh well, the lathers great and I'm going for a swim.

Are you using the Amici? :biggrin1:

im not measuring mine. I don't do that gram thing ;) But I'm kinda surprised mine isn't going down that much. I am wearing a divot in the middle, but it doesn't feel like the tub as a whole is losing soap.

So far I have missed 2 days, So tonight I will shave again with the same setup that I have been using for most of the month. The same i used since last update.

Shave 12 and 13

Preshave-Shower and facial scrub.
Brush- Semogue Horn handle 2-band
Razor- Gillette Old ball handled.
Blade- Polsilver SI
Soap- Razorock XXXt
Aftershave- Razorock Baby Blue.

Since I have been shaving for so long with the soap i'm not learning a whole lot about how it reacts or how to lather. I AM learning a bit about my blades though. I have some Polsilver SI blades because I heard they're supposed to be so sharp and smooth, though I have never appreciated them much until this run with them. They shave well, though they dull much quicker for me than the other blades i've used so have a bit of tugging quicker than expected.

Shave 10 last night was fantastic.

It was my first shave with my newly arrived Mistura. Finished off with Alt Innsbruck. What a treat!

April 17[SUP]th[/SUP]
Razor: Gillette 1938-1941 Tech Fat Handle
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless Green (4)
Brush: Semogue 1460
Soap: RazoRock Zi’ Peppino
After Shave: Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum

Another great RR shave. Down to 32 grams (including container) left of the Zi Peppino after starting with 100g. I am using about 2.5 to 3 grams per shave, so probably another 10 to 15 shaves left. As I start getting towards the bottom of the tub, I find I use less for some reason.

TFS Nerolli balm

Haven't used the chubby much with this soap. Its total overkill. I had lather flying everywhere this morning and wasted a bunch down the drain. Probably going to holster that guy for the rest of this ride and save him for the harder triple mills - especially since my chubby is a shedder, unfortunately.

Another Great Spring RazoRock Shave (#17)

April 17, 2014

Simpsons Berkeley Best
Razorock Lime Shave Lube (As A Pre-Shave)
Gillette Fatboy
Gillette 7 O'Clock Black (4)
RazoRock KotC Lavender
RazoRock Alum Stick
Myrsol Agua Balsamica Splash

The KotC Lavender is a wonderful soap. Great lather & wonderful scent.

The Polsilver blades didn't impress me either. Have you tried any of the Russians? Rapira, Voshkod, Ladas? I've found them to be very well balanced blades that have lasted up to 6 shaves for me in an R41.

Are any of you RazoRockers planning on buying into Joe's Slant tester project this weekend?

Close. Lots of the 2012 SE, couple of D01 2bands, a boar, a Rooney, and a chubby. Never a fair fight, but the synthetics get to watch how it's done.
