What's new

It's Repeal Day, I toast my new Friends at B and B!

Cheers all, today marks the day in 1933 that FDR repealed the Volstead Act of 1919 (a poor social experiment at best), by signing the Blaine Act, and allows all of us American to responsibly enjoy our fine beverages if we choose.

So Raise a glass today and I wish all of you here at B and B a healthy and happy holiday season!

And the Yuengling Brewery had a case delivered to him at the White House that very day.

Which of course meant it was brewed prior to the repeal being signed. :biggrin1:

Learn something new every day. I'll have to enjoy a drink in celebration (after the work day of course).

Before signing the legislation to abolish prohibition, President Franklin D. Roosevelt famously quipped, "I think this would be a good time for a beer."

Thank you, President Roosevelt.

Well this occasion calls for a toast with American whiskey I think... Rye for me.
