Did you figure out how to manage google drive vs google photo? I mention this in the context that unlimited photo storage was recently offered, so in theory most of your photos should not count against your google drive quota.

Thanks for pointing this out. I wasn't aware there was a difference.

Currently, I have everything stored in one place on Google Drive, with sub-folders separating different classes of files.

If I could separate the photos out into another place, I'm not really sure what that would gain for me. I have plenty of space left on Google Drive, and probably will never run out during my lifetime.

What I'm hoping, though, is that the Google Photo Cloud Storage is integrated with their Picassa photo-editing software ... tweaking and enhancing photos has always been a problem, no matter where I store them.
