Vintage barber hones are at best 8k and most are coarser IMO. They are not a viable option for maintaining a razor to high standards given the options today.

This stone’s box is beautiful and the stone itself seems in good condition. It’s a worthwhile buy at the price for a piece of vintage American art, but not for finishing or maintaining a razor in 2022.
