I have never heard them called ranger bands. I think your number is a little low, maybe an order of magnitude or two, inner tube rubber is very useful stuff in a pinch, but for almost every job there is a better, specific material (cosmetically more pleasing too). Generalist vs unitasker...

I gotta remember the innertube slice idea. I've got a perfect application for it, I've been using wife's hair elastics for years on this small toolbox and I have to double them up and I lose them and such, one innertube will keep this thing secure for the rest of my life. Should be perfect for a ton of other things too.

I would have also accepted COB LED, chip on board, the chip is built directly onto the package material instead of a silicon wafer, then cut out.

I bought a couple a few weeks ago. I think I like them. I found some candle shaped bulbs that cast a useful pattern for an open ceiling fixture.
