This was actually my setup for the past 4 days, as I was on a long weekend getaway in the mountains east of San Diego. The Gem Triumph set (circa 1925) makes a fine travel kit, just as it did 90 years ago.

This variant of the 1912 features the "squat head" with a flat beveled cap and a shortened handle inside a plush lined nickel plated brass case.

Both razors gave a two pass irritation free DFS.
1912 wins because of ease of blade change. 1914 nearly won because of audibility.

the only thing that detracts from my ER 1914 is it is more prone to soap and stubble build up under the blade.
and the handle is a tad short.
