Not only do they smell good together, they look good together, too.
Nothing like a BBS face for a black tie event! The R41 certainly delivers that. And the D.R. Harris über worked flawlessly. Now to pick a fragrance for the evening... If only I had a few options in my wardrobe...

Razor: iKon OSS Blade: Super Iridium Brush: Simpson Duke 3 Best Soap/Cream: La Toja Classic Cream A/S: Floid Blue
A BBS shave today. This was my first time using La Toja and Floid Blue. The cream performed well but I need some additional shaves with the cream to see if it makes it to the favored list. The Floid Blue is a definite favorite with a scent that reminds me of one of the old barbershops I went to with my grandfather and father. The was my first use with the OSS as an owner. My first opportunity to use the OSS came when Phil lent it out to travel and be put to the test as the traveling razor. A great razor with a dual personality!
Veldig fint, Rune! Jeg virkelig liker dine stilige notis.
Today (Saturday) I had my first straight razor shave!
- Mehmet Aydin soap, hot towel
- Arko soap, hjm badger
- Puma Friseurfreund 4/8
- 34c w/ Ladas (7)
- Alumn, Old Spice
- a little while later: Nivea-ASB
I received this straight razor in the mail yesterday. A plain recycled cardboard envelope, the razor just thrown in with no wrapping whatsoever and sitting in there open. Oh well...
Not having a strop yet, I used a pair of jeans.
Since I had never shaved like this before, it took 30 minutes. Despite of the Arko prep, it was pulling and tugging some, which makes me wonder if the seller was correct in saying it came shave ready.
I will test it leather stropped next time and perform a hair test; should I not see a difference, I'll send it off to one of the local honemeisters.
All in all, still a nice experience!
I finished this shave with the Merkur DE, since I am going easy with the straight razor shaving and won't push for perfection.
