Many years ago, my mother served us some freshly made banana cream pie after lunch. My father said, after a few bites, "dear, this pie is musty". Puzzled and a bit upset, my mother said, "Musty? I just made it this morning!" My father then replied, "I MUST have some more!" With that said, and my mother relieved, we all had a good chuckle out of that. Each of us children remember that bit of dinner table humor from a long time ago.

Slapstick is a type of humour, yes?

When forced to endure large dinner gatherings, I used to pick up the basket of rolls and hand it to the person on my left with the whispered instruction to "send this down that way, willya?"

Then I'd wait to see how many times it went around the table. My record is three times.
