I myself am the proud owner of a EJ DE 89 ( smooth chrome but honestly it has never slipped once). It is true what everyone says about the finish. Amazingly beautiful and I wipe it down with a towel after every use to keep it shining. ;-)
i used to think it wasn't aggressive enough but I think I've changed my technique somewhat because it seems to work much better lately.
