I keep noodlers army green in my 51 that lives at my desk here at work. I use it for anything i need to write on. Be it notes, or signatures on contracts.
My 45 with black quink lives on my desk as well, and i pick them up pretty much at random.

I generally use the V5 or V7 inked rollerballs for class notes, so I use two colors to distinguish between each day's notes. For a Monday, Wednesday, Friday class I take notes in black on Monday and Friday, blue on Wednesday. It helps me distinguish between the different days. Plus I love playing with different colors! The medieval scholar lurking in my soul would be proud.
Different colors, apart from the ones that make my eyes hurt, are really helpful for differentiating. While I love my computer, I can't take notes in it. I'll sit there and fidget with the formatting instead of taking notes. Pens are so much less formattable. You write, they stick to the page.
