After refreshing blade, shave close, face sore

There are so many factors, hard to know. Helps to have a few beaters to experiment on and use as a control razor. When trying new things, I often shave one side of my face with the new and one side with a control razor.

I don't do SR, but my nephew does.
Did you remember to strop the razor? I can't remember how many times he complained about his dad folding his strop.
The Black is about 3000 grit with little tiny burrs. The Strop is the equivalent of the sharpening steel, just a lot finer
