Avon Nourishing Shave Oil, Pakistani 'Parker' shavette clone with Tiger 1/2DE blade*. Light dusting of talc' with sponge for touch up using Panasonic Travel Shaver ES-RS10 (great little shaver, but poor build quality, note the way I've had to repair the lousy thin plastic head using epoxy, a dressmaker's pin, silver tape and a plastic tie). Joop aftershave Balm

*Stainless steel blades in a shavette are not my preferred choice for my sensitive skin. Much prefer a carbon steel DE blade like Treet Black Beauties which give me more of a traditional SR shaving experience. BBS

Evening shave - 4/22/24
Razor: Noname OC
Blade: Derby Premium (8)
Soap: BSS #1
Brush: RazoRock Hive 24
Aftershave: Clubman VIBR
Rating: 9/10, DFS
New razor. Unknown, noname OC razor. Used the blade from previous shave. Very comfortable shave, but it felt a bit inefficient. Could be the blade that is on te way out. I will try a new blade next time. Very comfortable shave though, but some to be desired in closeness.

This is the third shave with the Karve SB razor and a Wizamet blade. Yesterday’s shave was rushed since I had to do an airport run. Today’s shave was nice and relaxed. Another close and smooth shave. Today’s brush was the 2022 B&B LE by Rudy Vey. This was the 118th shave with the Williams soap. A perfect shave. Have a wonderful day, folks.

Razor : Gem MicroMatic, Mfg 1930-41. Excellent mid range to upper mid range. Well made to last, this razor pulled Gem Mfg through the Dirty 1930's time period. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (8) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Ogallala Bayrum sage and cedar, nice scented Bayrum with great lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Black marble" 24 3band silvertip badger. Excellent lather generator, luxury pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. This brush has a nice large bloom when first cleaned and has still a large knot.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ogallala Bayrum Sandalwood lotion cologne splash+ a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : Dial 9.5.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=:a17: Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Gem Micromatic with a coated Gem blade.

Razor : Yaqi 2nd generation Mellon head 316 SSP with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle- Mfg 2023>, tame mid to mid range. Machining and finish QC are excellent for my shaving needs. This is one of my favorites when dialed in + performs well with some blade feel. One of my easiest razors to get some of the Best shaves consistently I have found or noticed. The audio feedback is what I enjoy mostly + results it offers. Had a stellar close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gillette Perma-sharp(1) Sharp and smoooth with great longevity. Excellent top tier blade!
Soap : Ogallala Bayrum with sandalwood, nice scented sandalwood with great lather qualities. Apply to a wet face works the best.
Brush : Yaqi "Cola" 22 mm synthetic. Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser Bayrum + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Post shave : Ogallala Bayrum and sandalwood :001_wub: + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : Dial 10 stellar.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=:a17: Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Yaqi Mellon 316 SSP + a Gillette Perma-sharp blade.

Razor: Hoffritz Slant
Blade: Shark Platinum (1st)
Brush: DS Cosmetics synthetic
Soap: Vintage Shulton Old Spice
Post: Dickinson's Witch Hazel
After: Vintage Old Spice Original
Rating: 8/10
Notes: I got my Hoffritz slant out for a shave this morning as it has been a while since I've used any of my Slants. Also gave a shark Platinum another try and this time the results were great. Three passes, BBS shave. It's something with me and slants I get the same 3 weepers in spots I normally don't get weepers. No irritation other than those three weepers.
Seeing that OS bottle and mug really take me back: my dad had these both. Lovely indeed.

Not made for these times.
Pre-shave • King C. Gillette Face Wash

Soap • Acca Kappa

Bowl • CaYuen (Large)

Brush • Connaught Omega Jade

Razor • 1946 Gillette Ranger Tech

Blade • Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge (1)

*Warm Shower*

Aftershave • Thayers Unscented + Bootlegger's Original Bay Rum

Eye Gel • Neutrogena Hydro Boost

The '46 Tech/Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge delivered a fine shave this morning. A little over 2 days of growth knocked down. No weepers or irritation. The Acca Kappa was quite invigorating. I really enjoy this soap. Original Bay Rum for a superb finish.

This is my last shave in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. I'm really looking forward to returning home to Nashville, Tennessee in a few days. I'll see you all in about 2 weeks after I get settled in. I'll be starting up my blade PIFs again as well. :)

10/10.

God bless you, friends. 🙏

Tuesday's shave needed to be quick and efficient...

Razor: Yates 921-H
Blade: Voskhod (2)
Lather: Hempz have gel
Aftershave: Nivea "sensitive cool" balm

Well hydrated Hempz gel is extremely high performing for me. It retains moisture and slickness really well and makes for basically effortless shaves. Today's shave was comfortable, close and efficient.

Preshave: Hot shower
Soap/Shave cream: Stirling Soap Sandalwood
Brush: Perfecto Badger
Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89
Blade: Gillette Platinum (1)
Post shave: Gillette Gel
Rating: 8.8/10

So I keep records of every shave since I started this journey and the Gillette Platinum has never fared terribly well in my notes. I still have a tuck remaining and decided it was time to pull one out for my mildest razor and give it another go.
Not smooth. Not smooth at all. Drats. So I binned it after one shave because life is too short for lousy shaves.
Two consecutive days with less-than-ideal shaves. That's okay .. I'll be back tomorrow and I'll guarantee you I'll have a smoother one.
