I applied some skin lotion about 10 min. before the shave then right before lathering used Alba hair conditioner as a pre shave. Turned out to be a VERY comfortable BBS shave, great results. I used to prep like this a long time ago, stopped for some dumb reason... all that glycerin and mineral oil in these products worked wonders!

Reef Point Submariner today. 20 seconds to load the JB/Elite Manchurian White brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Vintage Gillette Platinum Plus still in the Fat Boy. Excellent smooth, close shave. I finished with Reef Point Submariner aftershave.

A dandy shave pic, Daniel. Nice looking Push-Button. I have one but haven't used it (but I will rectify that soon). For me, with a beard, it's a bit hard to face lather though I sometimes do a bit on my neck. If your Semogue is anything like my 830 I can see why it's a pleasure to use.

Smooth and comfortable shave... but I had to change the blade to the ATG pass with a fresh one as I started to feel the blade a bit dull and tugging. After the sub the shave finished uneventfully and smoothly.

Mastro Livi RWL34: a Stellar Fabulous Edge!​

The more I use a Mastro Livi RWL34 razor, the more I know how great are the straight razor made with this fabulous stainless steel. They simply take an incredible edge that, coupled with the superior Mastro Livi's craftsmanship in creating extra full hollow blades by hand and by using his wheel grinders only, give a super smooth and close shave. I am so happy I took this Mastro Livi RWL34 with me for this month's trip and it is giving me the very best shaves. As for the rest of the today's shave setup, I used an Omega bristle brush which easily mounted a rich lather from Cella shaving soap, ended with the very cool and refreshing touch of the magnificent Floïd Blue aftershave.
