Pinaud Clubman

A few days ago I was in a Walgreen's when I noticed a bottle of Pinaud Clubman. It has been a long time since I have used that AS and I bought a bottle. I have used it a few times now and I am really enjoying it. It has a mild but pleasant scent. Who would have ever believe this is the same company that makes the Veg!

Pinaud Clubman is the cats meow!!! I love that stuff! I use the shampoo, hair tonic, and hair gel, along with the AS

Definite classic but my SWMBO hates it :(

One of the few aftershaves with a scent that lasts the entire day on me.

Personally, I love Clubman. It's masculine and the scent lasts for hours. My wife can stomach it, but she's not crazy about it. It was a sad day when she threw an entire bottle of Brut in the trash, so at least Clubman didn't get that kind of reaction.

Clubman is a true classic. It's one of my go-to aftershaves right alongside Aqua Velva and Old Spice. :thumbup1:

I could bathe in Clubman. I really wish the scent would last longer.

I love the Clubman, but strangely I find its scent to be very strong and very long-lasting. I actually cut it with witch hazel, along with adding 1 drop/oz. glycerin.

For those of us in the US who are Of A Certain Age, it brings back memories of barbershops where, in my neck of the woods, after trimming the sideburns and back of the neck with a straight razor, the barber would dust you with Clubman talc.

That's actually the best clue for me when checking out a new barber: if the shop smells like Clubman when you walk in, they've passed the first test.

Boy does that bring back memories. The barber would take a special brush, put the Clubman talc with it, and give you a good "dusting."

For us Canucks of a certain age, the same holds true! The barbershop I frequent has a small display of talc and Jeris hair tonic. I'm always asked if I want gel or some sort of stuff put in afterwards. I'm going straight home to shower off those tiny little hairs anyway, so no thanks. I have ample supplies at home following the tiny little hair removal. One of these days I'll build the courage to ask how much the stuff on display is going for...probably not cheaper than at Sally's!

I was just recalling the barbershop of yesteryear. In addition to the talcum powder, the barber would take some WH rub his hands together and rub it in where he shaved you, usually your sideburns and back of neck.

I couldn't find my razor oil today after I shaved so while I was out I picked up some mineral oil at Walgreen and saw that they had a small bottle of Clubman so I decided it's high time I try this out. I'm a long time user, 2nd generation chosen of The Veg, but I've never tried Clubman. The scent from the bottle smells pretty good, I'll give it a try tomorrow.
